Will my hard drive still be under warranty after you recover my data?
In many cases, yes. We always attempt to recover your data without voiding the manufacturer’s warranty on your hard drive. Should we need to use methods that may affect your warranty, we will discuss with you all options before proceeding.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards, business checks, money orders, and PayPal. We can also arrange financing if requested.
How can your service be so much less expensive than your competition's?
We focus on recovering the most common types of data loss. By doing this, we can specialize our services and lower our costs. Our competition may spend tens of thousands of dollars on specialized equipment used to recover data from the most damaged hard drives, such as those in fires or floods. Although this may be only a fraction of the hard drives they receive, they may pass this cost along to everybody. By not servicing these cases, we ultimately save money and pass the savings along to you.
Is your data recovery of the same quality as the more expensive data recovery companies?
Yes. In fact, we believe we are of higher quality in many regards. The fact is all data recovery companies basically use the same methods to recover your data. But, we take personal pride in providing you with the ultimate in service. We will be here for you in any way possible before, during and after your recovery. We know how important your data is and will treat it like it is our own.
What happens if you cannot recover my data?
In the rare case that we cannot recover your data, you pay nothing for the service. We do not even charge an evaluation fee. You simply pay for the cost of shipping your equipment back to you.
To what type of storage device will you write my recovered data?
We have multiple options for recovery media to best suit your needs. We offer 2 free CD-ROMs at approximately 700MB per CD or 1 free DVD-ROM at approximately 4.7GB per DVD. If you require additional storage you can purchase additional CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs. We also sell replacement hard drives to which your recovered data can be written. Other recovery media include DDS tape, Zip Disk, floppy disk, flash memory or online via our secure website (additional charges apply).
Can I send you an empty hard drive and have you write my recovered data to that?
Yes. If you have or purchase an empty hard drive that can fit your recovered data, you can send it to us with your faulty equipment. We can then write your recovered data to the empty drive and return both to you.
I need some of my recovered files right away. How can I get them as quickly as possible?
You can make use of our online data return service. As soon as your data is recovered, we put the requested files on our secure server. You then logon using your unique username and password, download your files and get back to work. We then ship the remainder of your recovered data to you via the shipping method of your choosing.
Will you recover all of my data or only what I ask you to?
We always attempt a full recovery. This means that we try to get back all of your data. If, however, we cannot recover all of your data, we take measures to try to recover those files or folders that are most important to you.
I don’t know much about computers. Will you help me understand?
Absolutely. We feel that the best way to win your business is by giving you the service and respect you deserve. Suffering data loss can be a very stressful event. We understand that and will do everything in our power to help in any way we can. If we can do that we can be proud of helping you get your data back. You may then go out and tell your friends or coworkers about us. And that is a win-win!
What is your “Data Recovery Guarantee?”
If we cannot recover any of your data, you pay nothing for our recovery service. Not even an evaluation fee. You only pay for shipping if you would like your equipment returned to you.
Do you perform data recovery on Macs?
Absolutely. We work with both OS 9 and OS X. In fact, we hold a special place in our heart for Mac users as we use several in house.
Do you perform data recovery on Linux?
Yes. We can help recover your information from all flavors of Linux. We actually use several Linux boxes in-house for recovery tasks, servers and workstations. (For you Linux geeks, we currently utilize RedHat Linux but have run Caldera, among others, in the past. We also use Macintosh computers running OS X because of its UNIX architecture.)
Do you perform data recovery on Microsoft Windows?
Sure. Doesn’t everybody?
Do you recover data from more than just hard drives?
Yes. We can perform data recovery on floppy disks, Zip disks, USB memory devices, flash memory, and digital camera memory.
